Kae’s Class – balancing a stick (part 1)

We started working on a project to learn how to balance a stick.

The furthest we got was using the matter.js library to create a little robot that lets a stick fall over and then drives off the edge of the “world” while dragging it.

We then ended up spending an hour talking about how artificial neural networks work, various examples, and how ethics work in AI.

Watch the video here.

We also discussed John Stuart Mill’s “utilitarianism” philosophy, Plato’s “allegory of the cave”, the brain in a vat theory, and a number of other ideas, all trying to explain how reality and ethics are converted into meaning in a computer.
